Position: Scrum Master (Data Science Projects)

We invite a dedicated Scrum Master with a robust background in data science projects to join our esteemed team! Your role will involve fostering a collaborative atmosphere, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and guiding teams through the intricate landscape of data science projects. This position is full-time and remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily team meetings for status updates, organize and oversee Sprint planning sessions, and manage Sprint review processes, retrospectives, and progress tracking charts.
• Proactively identify and resolve impediments in sprints and projects to guarantee timely achievement of objectives, particularly in the context of data science challenges.
• Provide comprehensive Agile training and coaching to team members and stakeholders, enhancing the understanding and application of Agile principles in data science.
• Develop and refine user stories, including facilitation, prioritization, and negotiation activities with business sponsors, stakeholders, project leads, product owners, and development teams, with a focus on data science initiatives.
• Establish and implement metrics and reporting systems to monitor project progress and effectiveness of sprints, tailored specifically to data science metrics.
• Create and maintain extensive requirements documentation, including business process diagrams, functional specifications, use cases, test strategies, and supporting specifications focused on data science requirements.
• Act as a pivotal communicator to bridge differing perspectives of product owners, ensuring alignment and consensus on project priorities and objectives, especially in data-driven projects.
• Utilize expert negotiation and conflict resolution skills to navigate complex discussions, cultivating a collaborative environment where every voice is acknowledged and integrated into actionable strategies that propel project success.
  
  

Required Skills

• US Citizenship.
• Active or prior clearance at the Public Trust level or above, valid within the last two years.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Math, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Enterprise IT environment, with a specialization in leading data science projects.
• Experience with requirements tools and tracking (e.g., JIRA).
• Familiarity with software lifecycle, implementation tools, languages, and methodologies such as GitHub, Oracle, AWS, and Java.
• Proven experience in conducting daily scrum stand-up meetings, PI planning, release planning, and facilitating Sprint planning meetings, as well as coordinating Sprint reviews, retrospectives, and burn-down charts for data science projects.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to identify and eliminate barriers in sprints and projects to ensure timely completion, with a keen understanding of the unique challenges in data science.
• Experience in developing user stories, including facilitation, prioritization, and negotiation with business sponsors, stakeholders, project sponsors, product owners, and development teams, particularly emphasizing data science projects.
• Skills in creating metrics and reports for monitoring sprint, project, and overall program execution, with a focus on metrics relevant to data science.
