Small Business Lending LLC is looking for a Business Service Specialist.

Under the direction of the SVP, BSS Manager, the BSS assists the Lending Division in providing outstanding customer service to existing and potential lending customers. Assist the applicant in completion of loan applications through online loan application system. The BSS has a consultative conversation with applicants to discuss their financial needs and structure a solution with one of our lending programs. The BSS is to keep applicants/customers aware of progress in a timely and efficient manner throughout the application, underwriting, and closing process. The BSS will successfully cross sell appropriate and/or additional company products and services to new and existing customers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Contact all referrals (prospects and/or applicants) within set timeframe as prescribed by NewTracker.
  • Advise customer of application status and action necessary to achieve desired objective
  • Interacting with customers via telephone, text, email, or video chat in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide outstanding professional customer service and create strong client relationships
  • Prescreen and process all loan applications accurately through the online application system while interfacing with customers and others within and outside departments to determine if the applicant can be pre-qualified and for the appropriate lending product.
  • Daily updating of Referral System with pertinent customer information
  • Assemble all documents utilizing the Application Portal, essential to loan processing (SBA Forms, Credit Release, Financial Data and other pertinent documentation) for 7A, 504, SLOC and Conventional, C&I and Investor CRE lending programs
  • Provide timely and accurate status of assigned referrals in NewTracker
  • Conduct outbound calls to potential customers / referral sources as required by our Compliance Policy
  • Support and Assist BSS Team Leader, Underwriters and Closers by providing complete and accurate information pertaining to customer's application, status, or issues that needs to be addressed. Open and honest communication is essential for this position. The BSS should work with applicant to ensure both the application portal and closing portal are completed within appropriate time frames to ensure the application progresses through our process, from origination to closing, in a timely fashion
  • Maintain contact with Alliance Partners respective to their referrals
  • Maintain strong knowledge base of Newtek Loan Policies as they relate to SBA Loan Programs, SLOC, and Conventional Loan Program in order to provide applicants with program features, benefits and processes
  • Cross Selling of other Newtek products and services to new or existing customers with the belief that you are creating a partnership and serving the customer by introducing them to additional products or services that assist the business owner in increasing sales, reducing expenses and minimizing risk. When an opportunity is uncovered, the customer should be live transferred to the appropriate Business Service Specialist (BSS) or a referral should be put into NewTracker

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate computer and phone skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, i.e. Outlook,Word, Excel, etc
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow up, and problem solving
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills are essential
  • Self-motivating and great teamwork attitude
  • Ability to quickly learn about company products or services
  • Sales or Lending experience a plus
  • Familiar with financial reports (business and personal tax returns, cash flow projections, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1-4 years customer service experience
  • Ability to multi task and work with several applications concurrently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and plan accordingly

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other related field.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $100,000 per year
