Job description

Analyst, Rising Scholars Network
100% Remote within California, Must reside in California

The Foundation is the trusted partner of the California Community Colleges— facilitating collaboration, accelerating innovation, and increasing system wide resources. The Foundation’s Success Center for California Community Colleges is looking for an individual to join our team who has experience in criminal justice and higher education to lead the Rising Scholars Network (RSN). The Rising Scholars Network is an assembly of California Community Colleges committed to serving incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students by providing degree-granting programs in correctional facilities and on-campus support for students who have experienced the criminal justice system. We partner with every community college to build strong pathways from incarceration to higher education.

What You’ll Do

The Rising Scholars team actively works to incorporate the unique needs of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students as an equity initiative in the California Community College system by collecting and developing resources to help partners gain deeper understanding of and incorporate the unique needs of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students into their programs. This includes advocating for the colleges and working with corrections partners to reach solutions, building resources for prospective students, and fostering a shared learning environment and a joint commitment to quality among members of the Rising Scholars Network.

  • Work with RSN team members to track and report project deliverables and milestones to the Success Center, Foundation Leadership Team and Chancellor’s Office.
  • Use available technical tools to support project management and reporting.
  • Lead the development and implementation of communication strategies to advance department goals internally and externally, coordinating with Success Center and Foundation communications staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the Chancellor’s Office, Rising Scholars Network Leadership, and RSN Regional Coordinators, Success Center Units and Foundation Departments.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements with the RSN Team.
  • Support Regional Coordinators in curating and contextualizing resources, toolkits and artifacts, collaborating with Vision Resource Center team to ensure availability systemwide.
  • Manage program budgets.
  • Utilize relevant applications, software, and web-based tools to streamline communications with key partners, colleges, and other relevant groups.

Attributes for Success

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically to achieve goals.
  • Experience with project management software solutions (e.g. JIRA, Asana, MS Project, etc.).
  • Experience launching and expanding technology tools serving multiple regions or markets.
  • Ability to present technical information and processes in an easy-to-understand way.
  • We’re recruiting for mission-driven, passionate, equity-minded individuals with a strong desire to impact and change people’s lives for the better
  • Our work holds great weight and responsibility, and the opportunity to impact the lives of millions
