Job description

As an Ancillary Vehicle Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all ancillary vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. You will be responsible for routine servicing, repairing defects, and preparing vehicles for annual MOT tests, working closely with the Engineering Manager and Workshop Controller to ensure efficient vehicle operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and repair defects on all ancillary vehicles.
  • Prepare and present vehicles for annual DVSA MOT tests.
  • Order and maintain the parts ordering system to ensure the availability of necessary components.
  • Complete all paperwork related to services and testing accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all vehicles are completed efficiently and returned to service in a timely manner.
  • Arrange the collection and return of vehicles as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
  • Undertake other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager or Workshop Controller.


About You

  • Must have LGV/Car Qualification.
  • Must have knowledge of DVSA Vehicle MOT test requirements.
  • Relevant experience in vehicle engineering is necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and databases.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and practices.


This role requires flexibility with a middle shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Regular travel to various sites across London may be required.
