Job description

The Vacancy

Binnies an RSK group company are looking for Senior or Principal Network Modeller to work within our Consultancy team on water projects.

As a Senior or Principal Network modeller, you will have the opportunity to use your experience to undertake a variety of modelling activities from model build and verification to optioneering for the delivery of projects across the Binnies business. You will be working on several different types of projects including flooding and water quality. You will be leading and assisting with the training of less experienced modellers to deliver the variety of different projects undertaken by the team.

About The Role

You will support and mentor more junior modellers to achieve the following:

  • the model build and verification of network models,
  • prepare information for survey contractors,
  • prepare project reports for clients,
  • support the delivery of network modelling projects to budgets and programme,
  • liaise with clients and external organisations as needed,
  • supervise junior team members,
  • assist with the production of bids.


Essential Requirements

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with either the ICE or CIWEM.
  • Extensive knowledge of wastewater networks.
  • Experience in the use of wastewater modelling software including InfoWorks ICM.
  • Familiar with GIS software (MapInfo and ArcGIS).
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel.
  • Pro-active approach to work.
  • Analytical abilities.
  • Self-motivated and effective team player.
  • A drive to deliver sustainable solutions in the water and environment industries.


Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in other modelling software (fluvial or clean water).
  • Full driving licence.
  • Participation in industry committees.
  • Supportive attitude to other members of a team.
