Position Summary...
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

1. Design, develop and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Work on bug fixing and improving application performance, focusing on Android development.
4. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
5. Lead the development of Android apps required for international clients.
6. Write clean, sustainable Swift code and ensure code is compliant with the latest coding standards and best practices.
7. Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and improve application performance.
8. Work closely with the product team to build innovative, robust, and easy-to-use features using Kotlin.
9. Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality Android code.
10. Mentor junior team members and provide guidance for their professional development.
11. Create and maintain software documentation.



What you'll bring:

1.     BE/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.

2.     6 plus years of strong design/development experience overall, with 3+ years of mobile development experience

3.     Mobile-first design and responsive code deeply ingrained in your thought process.

4.     Expert in Android SDK, SQLite Database, Kotlin, Coroutines, XML-JSON Parsing,

5.     Familiarity working with REST APIs for deep integrations with both platforms i. e. general best practices, shortcomings, trade-offs, etc.

6.     Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

7.     Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

8.     Deep knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices;

9.     Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal skills.

10.  Large scale distributed systems experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.

11.  Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS

12.  A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.

13.  Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms

14.  Exposure to information retrieval, statistics, and machine learning.
