Senior QA Engineer

Your role

You are part of a high-performing team building modular underwriting tools for our insurance and reinsurance customers. You design and implement a test suite that is executed nightly or upon any merge. The framework ensures the correct functioning of the UI and calculation modules. Any issues on existing and newly developed parts shall be detected prior to any productive release. While doing so you closely collaborate with our internal insurance experts and developing teams using SAFe, an agile project framework.

Your daily contribution

• Automate test cases, maintaining existing tests and extending the functionality of the test framework
• Conduct backend and frontend applications testing
• Review test results and prepare detailed bug reports
• Investigate and accurately reproduce detected errors in the application through log analysis, execute REST/SQL queries, and prepare test data
• Analyze documentation and create test cases based on it
• Actively engage in scrum meetings providing updates and insights
• Actively contribute to refinement sessions, collaboratively contributing on the enhancement of acceptance criteria
• Collaborate seamlessly with product owners, business analysts, and internal/client-side development teams from Europe

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree related to IT or an equivalent practical track-record
• English proficiency (minimum B2 level)
• Solid Java Core knowledge
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Familiar with microservice architecture
• Basic SQL/NoSQL knowledge
• Understand agile methodology for project management
• Professional in backend and frontend automation testing using REST assured, Selenium Web driver, Selenide
• Proven in manual testing using Postman, Swagger and others related
• test design techniques
• work with CI/CD systems

Additional valuable experience

• Experience using Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, Git
• Knowledge of Kafka as message broker
• MongoDB and NoSQL experience
• Feel comfortable in a fast-changing environment
• Familiar with agile project framework e.g. SAFe

About the Project

You are part of an agile team that supports a global commercial insurer in enhancing their underwriting landscape e.g. with a tool for making informed business steering decisions based on their actuarial framework. The user can define insurance portfolios and reprice them using varying parameters and scenarios. The results help the client to understand their current profitability portfolio analysis & enable them to steer their business plans going forward. For doing so, the tool is embedded into the existing tool landscape and interacts with various operational applications.

This project has been launched in Jan 2024. We are working towards the minimal viable product (MVP). The framework may be expanded to more business areas (markets, client segments & products).
