At Open, we are looking for a hybrid Software / Data Engineer who thrives in both analytical and engineering environments. In this role, you will work to transform raw data into actionable insights using modern analytics tools while leveraging your engineering skills to track and structure data for efficient analysis. You'll navigate our backend systems, utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript to manage ETL processes and streamline data readiness for decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Turn existing data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions.
• Use SQL to query and analyze large datasets.
• Collaborate with the backend team to contribute to data tracking and transformation efforts using Javascript/Typescript
• Work with modern analytics tools to create visualizations and reports.
• Ensure that data workflows are optimized for accurate and timely reporting.
• Bonus points if you have exposure to Mode, Amplitude, BigQuery, Klaviyo, Firebase, Google Analytics
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to query and manipulate large datasets.
• Strong fluency in JavaScript and TypeScript for backend data manipulation.
• Experience working with ETL processes to clean and transform data.
• Familiarity with analytics tools such as Mode, Amplitude, or BigQuery is a plus.
• Exposure to Firebase, Google Analytics, or Klaviyo would be an advantage.
