This individual must have the ability to work with others in the company to develop solutions associated with the alignment and integration of CAD tools. The individual will be responsible for working with groups throughout the company to assist them with development of CAD solutions plans and structure to ensure users are successful in utilizing tools to perform their daily tasks.

The position supports production Electrical CAD instances throughout Collins Aerospace. The position requires developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the current application portfolio and the technical needs of programs and functional end-users. This includes development of automation scripting and code, as well as addressing end-user incidents and requests for assistance within agreed service level guidance in support of business and IT priorities.

What YOU will do:

  • You will provide Level 2 & 3 end-user support of electrical CAD software (Siemens EDA/Mentor, Zuken, Allegro) including Multi-CAD Data Management (EDM, DS2) and Integrations in development and production environments.
  • You will perform root cause analysis, debugging problems with the CAD environment and working with the appropriate technical teams to develop, test, and implement fixes to prevent a recurrence.
  • You will monitor, address, and resolve production CAD environment incidents, service requests, workflows, client install packages, etc., collaboratively with the PDM development and administration teams.
  • You will document all aspects of system support such that knowledge is readily shared among all those tasked with supporting CAD instances.
  • You will support expert level users, define, and document best practices, methods, training guides, and standard company processes.
  • You will support System Integration and User Acceptance Testing as required.
  • You will work closely with Information Technology (IT) for maintenance of CAD applications, including review of license usage, needs, and upgrades of all CAD applications to support all users.
  • You will be responsible for the configuration and development of Electrical CAD solutions.
  • You will be responsible for vendor downloads, configurations, to end user tool deployment.
  • You will provide demos to users and prepare training material and arrange training sessions for business users.
  • You will research and propose new technology for the Electrical Design space.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Software development experience
  • Excel working in a team environment and establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers.
  • Communicate effectively in a professional manner.
  • Must also be willing and able to travel (domestic and international) and either possess, or be able to obtain, a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • In depth knowledge in the use and application of Electrical design tools, Visualization tools, CAE Validation and Verification tools and Translator tools among other tools is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with primary CAD tools Siemens EDA/Mentor for schematic capture, EDM Library, EDM Design, PCB layout, constraints management, analysis, simulation and integrations to PDM/PLM tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (VBScript, Java, VB.Net)
  • Familiarity with Jira Service Manager

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
