The team:

The Jobber Product Partnerships team works with businesses from industry-leading tech companies to developers to build rich product experiences for our mutual users. We are responsible for establishing and managing strategic relationships with our largest partners as well as managing smaller app partners. 

The role: 

Reporting to the SVP of Partnerships, the Director, Product Partnerships will lead our growing Product Partnerships team. This is a player and coach leadership position where you will deliver exceptional value to Jobber through new strategic partnerships while hiring, coaching and mentoring the product partnerships BD and Partner Success teams to drive value for our home service professionals through integrations. You will lead a team of highly motivated partner managers looking to you to ensure they are providing a best-in-class experience for our partners. Your team will also oversee the day-to-day management of our existing technology partners like Quickbooks, Mailchimp, Docusign and more to jointly develop go-to-market plans, support joint product roadmap development, and establish senior level relationships with partner stakeholders to drive growth and retention of our technology partners. 

The successful candidate will need to have strong relationships and product partnership experience leading strategy, recruitment and acquisition of partners in various SaaS verticals. They’ll need to display strong commercial acumen and in-depth product knowledge in order to launch high value deals with companies of varying sizes and capabilities. 

This role will be expected to build and cultivate commercially viable product strategies, and relationships, that drive significant value for Jobber customers. This role requires a self-starter with a passion for delivering results, and strong skills in business development, strategy, marketing, and analytics. You will collaborate with product, engineering, sales & success,  and marketing teams to understand our customer's needs and present win-win scenarios for Jobber’s customer base and our partners. 

This position will require travel to conferences and partner sites. This role also requires a highly goal-oriented individual with experience managing and growing product partnerships. 

The Director, Product Partnerships will:

  • Develop and execute the product partnerships strategic plan
  • Recruit, manage and coach the Product Partnerships team
  • Draw upon deep understanding of complex market dynamics to identify, evaluate, negotiate, close and launch new technology partnership opportunities that align with the overall product and business strategy 
  • Maintain a pipeline of partnership opportunities that drive reach, product value and commercial opportunities for Jobber and our partners
  • Work collaboratively across product, marketing, engineering and support to plan, build, and launch quality, on-time technology partnerships while maximizing the adoption of integrations through enablement materials, co-marketing, co-sell motions, etc
  • Develop compelling business value propositions that encourage partners to adopt and invest in advocating building and marketing integrations with Jobber
  • Structure appropriate partner models/contracts to achieve mutually beneficial business results and drive execution of related partnership agreements.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of a partner’s value drivers, product capabilities, economics & business models, and how they align with Jobber’s strategy, product and goals
  • Ensure partner compliance with their agreements and manage escalations 
  • Lead complex contract negotiations for contracts that maximize the value for Jobber
  • Utilize reporting and analytics, partner portfolio health and data modeling to create business cases and action plans that identify and detail partner opportunities
  • Identify potential product gaps that partners could help fill - conduct buy, build, or partner analysis
  • Quickly build expertise in the Jobber product offering, including our strengths and weaknesses and available APIs
  • Work alongside our Sr. Manager, Partner Success to strategically align on customer & product goals, and SP success measurements

To be successful, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Strategic thinker and leader with extensive experience in Partnerships business development or account management, with emphasis on product partnerships with technology companies
  • Proven experience in people management
  • Successful track record of developing, structuring, negotiating and closing large-scale, complex business agreements and transactions with enterprise companies
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. This individual must be capable of leading presentations, and large group meetings with external partners and Jobber internal teams
  • Thinks and acts with a “win-win” attitude
