Supply Chain Development Manager


Location: Remote - We are accepting candidates based in Ireland or Switzerland ONLY

Duration: 12 months

Hours: 40 hours per week


Imagine your next project as Supply Chain Development Manager at Johnson & Johnson. The Supply Chain Development (SCD) team is responsible and accountable for developing and implementing an efficient, robust and compliant end to end supply chain for new products, ensuring successful global market launches by coordinating key functional group activities. The SCD team provides representation of the end-to-end supply function on new product value chain teams being led by the Value Chain Leader and provides JSC representation on the Global / Regional Commercial Teams, Integrated Brand Value Teams, and Local JSC Launch Teams.


As a Supply Chain Development Manager, your role is to support SCD Leaders (SCDLs) in executing specific Final Project Objectives (FPOs) and key deliverables. This includes primarily managing ERP system and SKU setup, overseeing packaging and mock-up development, and conducting distribution storage and transportation risk assessments. You will lead or coordinate cross-functional Janssen Supply Chain teams to ensure the timely completion of SCD key deliverables across New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.

Project lead or project assist, based on supporting model requested by SCDLs, cross-functional teams in various workstreams including but not limited to financial and system set up, packaging artwork and mock-up development and distribution assessment and readiness.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross functional NPI team to ensure E2E financial and system flows are developed and ERP system is set up for product launch
  • Responsible for NPI Finished Goods SKU creation in ERP system
  • Lead E2E distribution assessment from lane related data collect, project kick-off to the completion of assessment
  • Coordinate between Deliver, Transportation and Value chain team to ensure distribution is ready for launch
  • Develop and track packaging mock-up development plan to support regulatory filing
  • Support general launch execution activities

  • Continuously improve and standardize SCD processes and templates leveraging cross NPI program experiences to ensure consistent execution;
  • Develop and improve SCD Manager project intake, reporting and communication process

  • Attend SCD Community of practice and other forums to learn and share best practices

essential experience

  • 6 years in Manufacturing Supply Chain of which minimum three years of recent experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work in a matrix environment where priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships without having direct authority, influence multiple stakeholders and establish common goals and objectives with ability to lead global cross-functional teams.
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle complex situations with opposing priorities:
  • Ability to build project action plans cross-function.
  • Monitor progresses and assure that the project plan is timely executed by implementing recurrent meetings, continuous connections and by engaging the team members
  • Ability to readapt the project plan on the basis of changed priorities.
  • Assess potential risks to the project plan execution and assure mitigation is in place
  • Ability to function autonomously and work pro-actively.
  • Ability to see the big picture while keeping high level of attention to the details
  • Experience working in a regional/global setting, or experience in a large-scale business transformation project is required
  • In depth understanding of the End to End Supply Chain and interdependencies across functions. (eg Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Finance, Master-data) is fundamental.
  • ERP knowledge and practical application is preferred.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills is required.
