ABOUT THE ROLE.

 

Do you have a passion for potatoes and a love for all things agricultural? We're on the hunt for a Crop Management Technician to join our team on a 12 month temporary contract.

 

As our Crop Management Technician, you'll be the potato pro we've been searching for. Your job is to support our Regional McCain Agriculture Team and ensure that the world gets the finest quality potatoes right on time!

 

Reporting into the Director, Agriculture, you'll work alongside our Regional Agriculture Manager to achieve strategic goals as well as…

 

  • Collaborate with the Regional Crop Manager to provide potato intel that's as accurate as a perfectly baked potato!
  • Team up with our Agriculture crew to keep our growers focused on delivering top-notch potatoes.
  • Help us up our potato quality game across the grower base.
  • Provide growers with the wisdom of the potato fields, optimising production, yields, and quality.
  • Ensure our growers keep their records in tip-top shape on the McCain Grower Management System.
     

ABOUT YOU.

 

As well as ‘potato passion, we are also looking for…

 

  • Experience working with growers in a quality/agronomic capacity 
  • Familiarity with processing potato crops 
  • Comfort with bespoke agriculture computer systems 
  • Potato IQ: Knowledge of agriculture and potato crop production
  • Green Thumb: Tertiary agriculture qualification 
  • Proven track record in quality-oriented grower management 
  • Master Planner: Strong planning and quality management skills
  • People Person: Excellent relationship management abilities 
  • Tech-Savvy: Computer literacy 
  • Data analysis capability

WHERE WILL I WORK?

 

This is a remote role, you will be based in the North  of the UK, actively engaging with our potato growers while occasionally making trips to our headquarters in Scarborough.
