GENERAL PURPOSE:
To effectively apply Mantis methodology in the facility inspection process for Facility Management Solutions projects and to provide subcontractor oversight as needed. The primary duty will surround Quality Assurance Observation for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) related facility assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTY: HVAC Field TechnicianInspect and evaluate HVAC asset under the direction of a Project Manager/Project Coordinator with consistent accuracyProperly capture HVAC section surveys with MANTIS tablet technologyTake clear photos (no silhouettes/shadows) of the building, HVAC systems, roof, defects, inventory, and perimeterTake perimeter measurementsTake GPS data pointsIdentify HVAC assembly, inventory, and HVAC defectsIdentify any hazardous conditionsRemove debris from HVAC to allow for thorough visual evaluation of the entire HVAC SystemRe-attach any loose metal work/partsRemoval of any caustic materials present on HVAC system which could cause a safety hazard during the inspection As needed, perform minor HVAC repairs Make recommendations based upon inspectionCross training on roofing, pavement, building envelope, and energy inspection required as needed.DUTY: SafetyAdhere to MANTIS safety standards at all timesWear personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requires. May include full-body harness, lanyards, ropes, anchors, hard hat, work boots, safety vestParticipate in identifying job hazards through the job hazard analysis (JHA) form and alternatives to said hazardsParticipate and or lead daily safety briefingReport all incidents immediately including near missesHandle any/all hazardous materials as directed by safety data sheets (SDS)POSITION QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum 3-5 years of commercial Mechanical / HVAC experience Technically competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, TEAMS, Word, etc)Valid driver’s license with minimal driving offences over the last five years.Ability to perform minor maintenance work including restoration mortar and re-grouting tile.Physically able to climb scaffolding/ladders daily.PREFERRED:IIBEC Certification: Registered Roof Observer, Registered Roof ConsultantBS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldBasic Pavement Technology, AcknowledgementsWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESWork is typically performed outdoors with exposure to all types of weatherWork is performed on or in the buildings of customersWork is performed in a non-smoking environmentAbility to travel up to 80-90% (via vehicle, airplane, etc.)Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as email and telephoneLifting up to 75 poundsWorking extended hours may be required as neededWhat else can we offer you?
