POSITION SUMMARY

This person will be responsible for the development of demand forecast modeling based on historical data and planned business strategies.  They will collaborate with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Product Management to gather the necessary inputs such as promotional strategies, market intelligence, seasonality, trends, and probability-based sales.  This person will collaborate on product mix assumptions, growth by product and revenue.  They will lead monthly demand reviews to drive Sales & Operational Planning activities by providing input to the Supply Planning organization, and aide in developing inventory strategies on existing, new and product phase-outs.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance.   These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.

Knowledge: 

  • Basic experience with forecasting techniques used to forecast demand based on historical usage
  • Ability to apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting and reduce forecast error
  • Experience in IBP and S&OP principles preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint) required
  • ERP systems experienced preferred 
  • Proven track record of problem solving and improving customer experience
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data and trends
  • Displays excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred knowledge on Lean, CPIM, or 6Sigma

Level of Experience:  2-5 Years in Operations, Purchasing, Demand and/or Supply Planning experience.

Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel: 10%

  • Responsible for forecasting and projecting SKU level demand
  • Responsible for creating tools and techniques to measure and improve forecasting.
  • Lead monthly demand reviews to drive Sales & Operational Planning activities by providing input to the Supply Planning organization.
