Job Description

RI is going through an exciting journey of moving our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) portfolio to Cloud. This team is responsible for migrating Philips Image Management (erstwhile VUE PACS) to cloud. As part of this team, you will be involved in developing challenging software modules and systems within a complex and advanced environment. This includes contributing to Philips' ongoing development of the Philips Image Management solution, designed to serve various stages in the radiology workflow. Leveraging cloud deployment strategies, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our PACS solutions for hospitals and related institutions/sites. This involves architecting, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure to efficiently archive, distribute, retrieve, and display radiology images and data from hospital modalities and information systems.

Software Architect - Java

Your role:

  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based infrastructure, product and solutions

  • Build and maintain cloud services, ensuring (CI/CD) practices are followed

  • Develop automated solutions using industry standard tools to manage infrastructure as code.

  • Optimize cloud environments for performance, security, and cost

  • Implement and enforce security best practices with ISMS/QMS compliance

  • Setup monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to ensure system health.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and operational issues.

  • Work closely with product teams, and other stakeholders including cloud vendors during the product development lifecycle

  • Maintain clear documentation of cloud systems and procedures.

  • Stays up-to-date on the relevant technology domain and enjoys self-learning to bring new technical practices and innovations to the team

  • Executes on continuous improvement in processes and ways of working to achieve technical and operational excellence

  • Ability to mentor junior developers with strong sense of ownership

  • Makes informed technical decisions quickly as the result of well-directed data gathering, effective analysis and good judgement



You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 10+ years of work experience

  • Proven technical expertise in cloud technologies with strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines and containerization

  • Proficiency in languages like Python and Java along with strong knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Extensive experience in development and deployment of BizDevSecOps cloud solutions on AWS

  • Background in healthcare imaging technologies, standards, workflows and regulations (DICOM, HL7, FHIR, PACS etc.)

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or Splunk.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for faster releases and improved developer productivity

  • Experience in implementing software craftmanship processes and tooling  focused for the cloud

  • Experience in delivering healthcare SW using agile WoW, optimized for compliance (ISMS & QMS)

  • Experience working with ISMS and QMS, that is certified by auditing (internal and external) to manage regulated products

  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder management  on the technical front

  • Excellent communicator, able to accurately and succinctly communicate technical status to stakeholders at different levels

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
