What this job involves:

We are looking for a passionate Project Engineer to implement the Hank product and add value for our customers. Need someone who is a self-starter with ability to quickly learn and pick up new things.

What is Hank?

Hank is an AI based HVAC programming company that operates in large office buildings. Our goal is to reduce energy consumption, improve comfort, and improve building indoor air quality using our proprietary AI.

Position Summary

Hank Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end delivery of the Hank product. This includes high-level, HVAC system design and managing outcomes for different customer archetypes both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing technical scopes that define HVAC system operation in the context of the Hank system operation.
  • Collaborating with the Hank Production & IoT teams on technical project requirements
  • Peer review technical scopes and engage in brainstorming sessions.
  • Estimate project timeline & hours for Production tasks.
  • Continually manage project timeline based on customer and internal team feedback.
  • Accelerate or throttle back Hank software onboarding based on internal team and external customer feedback.
  • Act as main Client point of contact, interfacing between internal project team needs and client.
  • Engaging with customer's onsite staff throughout the project lifecycle to maintain comfort & equipment operation requirements.
  • Train onsite staff on the Hank Platform and continually drive daily self-service tasks.
  • Develop project documentation for internal and external stakeholders including HVAC Operating Manual and Onboarding Timeline
  • Coordinate with internal Sales team on energy requirements including initial energy estimates and historical energy bills.
  • Coordinate with internal Support team to ensure proper project engagement and handoff.
  • Address customer issues and shift project requirements as required.
  • Tune critical site settings to maximize comfort and energy savings.
  • Continually provide feedback and work with team to revise Project Engineer processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor Science in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent HVAC design experience.
  • Experience: 3-5-years’ experience in Building Automation and/or Mechanical Engineering HVAC design.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in BMS programming, BMS network architecture, HVAC Sequence of Operation implementation, airside HVAC equipment operation/design.
    • Familiarity with waterside HVAC equipment operation, BMS IoT implementations, energy efficient HVAC equipment operation, pneumatic control systems.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Certifications: Tridium Niagara Certification

Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Adequate HVAC programming skills
  • HVAC design experience specifically around equipment operation
  • Basic understanding of HVAC schematics including unit schedules
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to navigate difficult customer feedback and requests.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Eager to learn and always coachable.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

105,000.00 – 115,000.00 USD per year
