As a member of the Kellanova North America Auditing Team, you will participate and, at times, lead comprehensive Quality and Food Safety audits across our Internal and External Plants as well as Suppliers, ensuring compliance with the Internal 7CORE assessment and the External/Supplier Risk Based Management System Standards. You will serve as a subject matter expert, verifying the deployment of policies, procedures, programs, and practices through the audit process. Additionally, you will support capability-building processes and participate in the Global Auditing Community of Practice (COP) and other Global COPs to facilitate mutual knowledge transfer across all manufacturing categories, enabling sustainable execution and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in building capabilities and fostering knowledge transfer, essential for sustainable execution. This remote position requires 75% travel, offering a unique opportunity to engage with diverse teams and projects.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Audit Participation: Participate in the team that undertakes the audit process for internal and external manufacturing (co-manufacturers and suppliers) to ensure compliance with the Internal Quality Management System and External/Supplier Risk Based Management System programs. At times you will lead these audits and be responsible for all logistical arrangements and reporting.
- Capability Building: Enhance facilities’ ability to conduct successful system verifications. Develop critical thinking and self-auditing skills among Quality and Food Safety program owners to evaluate compliance and identify gaps for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). For our Internal Plants, develop a strong understanding of Kellanova Work Systems and how they integrate with Quality Food Safety performance.
- Collaboration: Partner with Internal and External plant coaches to measure and monitor site status. Partner with the Quality Ingredient Teams to support Supplier development. Collaborate with the Global Auditing Community of Practice (COP) to develop, implement, and improve global auditing standards.
- Action Planning: Collaborate with site Quality and Food Safety/operations teams to review action plans for closing audit findings using corrective and preventive measures. Review data and trends from SC Scorecards, Quality and Food Safety audits, and regulatory/third-party audits such as Global Food Safety Initiative schemes to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of auditing practices for Quality and Food Safety programs, with hands-on experience in food industry processing and packaging.
- Strong ability to apply critical thinking skills to evaluate and enhance Quality and Food Safety programs.
- Proven track record in developing site personnel to improve their evaluation and implementation of Quality and Food Safety measures.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines while managing significant travel, and strong team skills
