As the Infrastructure Architect you will be responsible for helping the Endeavour Group IT build up its architecture practice, not limited to but including its Stores and Venues architecture with a focus on Stores infrastructure. You will be involved in developing target state architecture and roadmaps for infrastructure and systems.

Responsible for building end-to-end solution design for infrastructure within our Stores- for an initial transition state to lift and shift from Woolworths and subsequent transformation to best fit EGL. 

Partnering with business, engineering and product stakeholders to determine system requirements and designing fit-for-purpose solutions.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

 

  • Be a key contributor to the Architecture peer group (with Infrastructure Architects and EA) supporting E2E store program team with their strategy and roadmap 
  • Partner with Senior Manager-Network & Infra Architecture and infrastructure teams in establishing standards and contribute to the formulation of guidelines with specific focus on Stores infrastructure and ensure alignment to Enterprise architecture.
  • Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and enable a seamless Stores transition journey.
  • Develop architectural guidelines and standards for infrastructure components, ensuring scalability, security and performance.
  • Review, assessment and governance of infrastructure solution designs for conformance to architecture principles throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Articulates and evaluates key options independent of technology, for a given solution and show trade-offs (risk, time, cost, capability, future value).
  • Diagnose and solve architecture and management problems and issues that may arise.
  • Act autonomously in dealing with identified issues or deviance from standards.
  • Work with Infrastructure, Cyber security, Network teams and Risk and Portfolio Offices to implement engagement processes to capture and track issues raised from assessments in project registers and risk register for delivered risk.with respect to the infrastructure designed.
  • Alignment to architecture standards and principles to ensure solution decisions are made consistently across the enterprise and in the context of target architectures.

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications (i.e. Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Proven experience in a Infrastructure Architect role, experience gained within large, complex environments
  • Previous experience working within Retail is highly regarded
  • Solid understanding and design capability across multiple infrastructure domains such as computing, storage, database, backups, cost management and addressing security controls in the Cloud (Azure & GCP)
  • Strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills  
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with an ability to negotiate and influence 
  • Proven ability to consult and provide advice to internal stakeholders
  • Experience in the development of infrastructure architectures for large enterprise (conceptual, logical and physical)
  • Deep expertise in either VMware's virtualization platform, or Microsoft Hyper-V platform with a focus on large distributed architecture and operational management. 
  • Experience in local area network architecture focusing on design, monitoring and operational requirements.  
  • Excellent understanding of Azure PaaS (Azure App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Container Registry, Azure Data Factory etc.) and Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Azure Resource Manager Templates etc.)
  • Knowledge of container runtime (Docker, containers) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is a bonus
