Hiring manager: Head of Benchmark, Improve and Change Management

Location: Budapest, 60% remote working; 30% travel to be expected.

Job type: Permanent Full-Time position

About the job

The Head of Continuous Improvement for Hyderabad or Budapest is responsible for continuous improvement (CI) across Business Operations (BO) for the respective hub location to optimize process efficiency and enhance overall business performance. This role develops and delivers the CI strategy whilst building the right capability, governance and culture to accelerate end-to-end Process Excellence, leveraging technology. Establishing effective relationships across all levels of teams and leaders in BO, especially the Head of Hub, implementing training programs and coaching team members and stakeholders on CI methodologies and tools will be key. The role reports to the Head of Benchmark, Improve and Change Management.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy:
  • Implement continuous improvement strategy for process excellence that aligns with Business Operations’ vision and ambition.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across all levels of the Hub organization.
  • Leverage frameworks and governance for opportunity identification, prioritization, resource allocation and progress tracking of high-impact process improvement projects.
     
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Own methods, tools and governance to drive and measure continuous improvement.
  • Leverage advanced methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, DMADV etc… and solutions in the field of Process Mapping/Mining to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Ensure BO teams are trained in Lean tools and techniques and establish certification Program.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of process enhancements identified initiatives.

  • Performance Management:
  • In collaboration with BO Strategy & Partnership team, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure alignment with best practices/core models and continuous enhancement initiatives.
  • Report progress, challenges and potential solutions to the BOLT and other business governance bodies as appropriate.

  • Leadership & Influence
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of 2-5 continuous improvement professionals.
  • Coach senior leaders on process improvement initiatives.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure stakeholder engagement in CI initiatives and culture.
  • Communicate the benefits and importance of continuous process improvements and CI culture effectively to all BO Hub employees. Implement CI events and recognition programs.

  • Innovation and Best Practices:
  • Stay connected with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and methodologies in process improvement.
  • Continuously seek innovative solutions to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.

About you

Experience:

  • Experience in leading continuous improvement and process excellence for large international GBS organisations, including facilitating large scale complex Kaizen/Value Stream Mapping/LSS trainings for senior stakeholders.
  • Work experience in different geographies, including people leadership of international teams in senior leadership positions
  • Extensive experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or a related role, including performance measurement and KPI management
  • Proven track record of leading change within large, complex businesses/functions

Soft & hard skills:

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Master Black Belt or Black Belt Certified, Professional Scrum Master) or other advanced process improvement methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (lean six sigma, agile), project delivery and portfolio management
  • Proficiency in process improvement tools and software
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and communicate continuous improvement strategic goals effectively
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A MBA is preferred

Languages:

  • Fluent in English; fluency in second language is a plus
