Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Technician is responsible for performing experiments, analyzing data, and general laboratory tasks under the direction of senior laboratory members. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in mouse models, cell culture, flow cytometry, and molecular cloning. Candidates will need to be highly organized, flexible, and motivated. Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency are required. This research technician position will focus on the effects of DNA damage on T cell function. Day to day tasks will include molecular cloning, isolation and culture of mouse and human T cells, production of viral particles for transduction, and in vitro and in vivo assays to determine efficacy of T cells against tumor models.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED PLUS (2) two years of experience performing tests in a research laboratory. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Be proficient to work with aseptic technique for cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques Be willing to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Be able to keep organized laboratory records and notes.
  • Know how to use “Office”
  • Have good communication skills.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Performing research experiments, keeping experimental records
  • Performing research experiments including T cell isolation and culture, virus production, tumor cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular cloning, qPCR, and western blotting.
  • Keeping descriptive and accurate records of all experiments performed, data entry and analysis.
  • Keeping track of used supplies and designated laboratory chores which are rotated amongst laboratory members, such as autoclaving glassware,
  • Preparing common reagents
  • Organizing/stocking laboratory supplies in designated areas.
  • Performing related responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor


Salary Information:

$31,200 annually
