Job description

We are hiring within Valsoft for an experienced IT Security professional with a strong background in auditing and risk assessment to join our growing team in North America!

As an IT Security Auditor, you will play a crucial role in assessing and enhancing our security posture. You will conduct thorough security audits, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks across a wide variety and number of businesses. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

The successful candidate can be based anywhere in Canada, working in a remote work model!  

What your day will look like:  

  • Perform comprehensive IT security audits to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of security controls
  • Identify and assess vulnerabilities and risks within each organization’s IT infrastructure
  • Develop and implement audit plans, including risk assessments and testing protocols
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending best practices
  • Collaborate with multiple IT teams to ensure that security measures are effectively implemented
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and emerging threats to continuously enhance our security practices

About You 

  • Proven experience in IT Security with an understanding of auditing and risk assessment processes 
  • Strong understanding of IT security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS)
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar related discipline is highly advantageous
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to assess and communicate cyber risks across various industries and regions, recommending tailored solutions for different business needs
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders across multiple international business units 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize in a fast-paced, global environment 
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
