Benefits & Compliance Administrator

DEPARTMENT: Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00AM Eastern time with a 1 hour unpaid break
REPORTS TO: Benefits & Compliance Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB LEVEL: Level 1

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting with the administrative activities related to the benefits and compliance function by answering employee inquiries as it relates to company benefit programs, initiating employee leave conversations, processing paperwork, and maintaining and organizing
department files.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding company benefit programs and policies in a
confidential and timely manner
• Provide support for administrative activities related to our group benefit plans including health, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, COBRA, and other benefits as needed
• Support employee leave programs by initiating employee leave discussions and processing leave paperwork
• Assist with maintaining accurate employee leave records and analyze and report on trends
• Support the management of the Employer of Record (EOR) vendor relationship and international employees throughout the employee lifecycle
• Assist with employee visa requests, consulting with candidates and future employees on visa and immigration processing steps
• Collaborate with the Benefit Specialist and Leave Specialist to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for benefits and leave policies and programs.
• Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, PFL, STD, LTD and other applicable legal, state, and federal regulations
• Apply continuous improvement philosophy to processes to improve administration, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies
• Organize and maintain human resources files, documents and other administrative duties as needed
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1+ years of experience in benefits and/or compliance role
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional demeanor
• High degree of integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing sensitive data
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Resourceful self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field
