This is a remote position.

Job Description for Medical Virtual Assistant (Bilingual English/Spanish)


Scope:
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Rockhill, South Carolina time with an hour unpaid break
  • Manage all incoming communication for the primary care office
  • Oversee patient scheduling and appointment management
  • Handle insurance verification and eligibility checks
  • Assist with basic medical administrative tasks
  • Provide bilingual support to patients and staff as needed
Responsibilities:
  • Answer phone calls and communicate with patients and other callers
  • Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments
  • Make referrals for patients to other healthcare providers
  • Check and respond to emails
  • Verify insurance cards and check patient eligibility
  • Enter patient data and manage electronic records
  • Handle general administrative tasks related to medical office operations

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking and writing)
  • Experience in medical office administration or similar healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in using medical software and electronic health record systems
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
