Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is searching for a Territory Manager to join our collaborative, innovative, and close-knit Northeast sales team. This position will support the Upstate New York, Vermont, and Eastern Canada territories. The candidate will be based in the Upstate NY market.
The position will service existing customers as well as new prospective customers. Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. We manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
We are looking for someone who is success driven, highly self-motivated, and strategic in their approach to building strong relationships and servicing long-term customers while researching, qualifying, and developing prospective customers. This person will be responsible for executing a sales strategy and reporting progress to management.
So, what will you be doing as a Territory Manager?
- Assisting customers with product knowledge and training
- Representing products at trade shows and other similar functions
- Collaborating with our manufacturing facilities
- Working with our customer service team to ensure all orders are delivered as needed
- Managing account pricing
- Resolving account and credit issues
- Expanding sales
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of successful sales experience (outside sales preferred)
- A Bachelor’s degree if no direct sales experience, preferably a Bachelor’s in a business-related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Overnight travel required monthly.
