Job description

TThe Part-Time Methodologist will serve on numerous dissertation committees, reviewing dissertation manuscripts, and providing feedback specific to the research methods, either qualitative, quantitative, or applied. The faculty member will help prepare doctoral students to conduct doctoral research that is methodologically sound. The faculty member is required to complete Administrative Reviews within six business days.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • It is expected that every online faculty member will model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. The candidate must be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
  • Primary responsibilities include serving as a methodologist on dissertation committees, reviewing dissertation manuscripts, and providing feedback specific to the research methods, either qualitative, quantitative, or applied.
  • Faculty member will help prepare resources to guide students and faculty in research methods and analysis.
  • Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Assist faculty with research methods and analysis questions.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students and dissertation committee members.
  • Advise dissertation committee members in matters related to research methods and analysis.
  • Maintains and reports student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications And Credentials

Education and Experience

Applicant must have a PhD or equivalent in related field. Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Must have completed a traditional qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method dissertation. Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University. Must demonstrate expertise in either qualitative or quantitative research methods. Superior interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills required. Candidates must work well with others and be able to work at a pace that will not delay the progress of a dissertation candidate toward timely completion of the doctoral degree.
