We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audio Visual Field Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering state-of-the-art Audio Visual/Digital Signage solutions across various retail facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in surveying sites, identifying unique challenges, leading installation teams, and collaborating closely with design engineers and project managers to ensure seamless system integration tailored to each location's specific needs.

This position is located remotely, but 50-75% travel is required depending upon project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Travel and Site Evaluation: Travel frequently to various client retail locations to conduct thorough site surveys & evaluate existing AV/IT/Structural/Mechanical infrastructure. Travel requirements are dependent on project needs but are expected to range between 50-75%.
  • System Placement and Design Collaboration: Determine optimal placement of audiovisual equipment within retail environments, considering both technical requirements, visibility, and aesthetic considerations. Work closely with design engineers to adapt and refine system designs based on site-specific conditions and challenges.
  • Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify unique site-specific issues that might impact the installation or performance of AV systems. Develop practical and innovative solutions to overcome these challenges.
  • Project Collaboration: Act as the primary field liaison between project managers and on-site contractors or client representatives to ensure that all technical needs are addressed and integrated into the overall project plan.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation of site conditions, system specifications, and any other relevant data to assist in project planning and implementation. Create comprehensive floorplan, elevation, and section sketches, and take detailed photos to enhance the clarity and detail of reports. Include these visual documents and photos in communications with project managers and design engineers for review and further decision-making. Ensure all documentation is thorough and precise to facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Installation Oversight: Oversee installation crews to ensure installations are completed according to design specifications and quality standards. Conduct regional crew technical training to ensure staff are well-versed in the latest installation techniques and standards. Perform commissioning onsite to verify all system functionality and adherence to quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct pre-installation testing and validation of AV designs to ensure compliance with technical specifications and client expectations. Oversee the installation process to guarantee quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to on-site staff regarding the operation and maintenance of newly installed AV systems. Provide on-site support and service of field deployed AV systems as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Electrical Engineering, IT Engineering, or similar).
  • Proven experience as an AV Technician or Engineer, with a strong background in field work involving system design and integration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as required by project demands, with travel expected to be between 50-75% depending on specific project needs..
  • Must be located within 40 miles of a major International Airport.
  • Must possess personal tools relevant to the position. Specialized equipment will be provided by Quad.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
  • Location is Remote, with travel dependent on project needs (between 50-75%)
