As a Commercial & Medical Affairs Procurement Business Partner, you will manage an annual spend of approximately $350M across various categories, including marketing, creative and media agencies, payer and market access, sales services, market research, medical content, competitive intelligence, data licenses and analytics, and commercial and medical affairs operations. This is a global role requiring expertise in category management, sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.

This role offers the opportunity to work with first-time sourcing strategies in new countries and markets, combining strategic sourcing with tactical negotiation to deliver maximum value to Moderna’s supply base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiating master agreements and statements of work to achieve beneficial commercial and legal terms. This role is based at our state-of-the-art Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub in Warsaw, where we foster a high-collaboration culture, with the team working onsite together 70% of the time and offering flexibility to work from home up to 30%.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Building and cultivating strategic stakeholder relationships, ensuring smooth collaboration and delivering total value.

  • Developing and managing category plans, including spending analysis and sourcing initiatives, continuously adapting purchasing strategies based on market conditions and internal needs.

  • Implementing sourcing initiatives using advanced tools, partnering with stakeholders to understand their requirements, and securing optimal terms for the supply chain.

  • Negotiating favorable supplier terms and ensuring compliance while managing supplier relationships using a standard Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.

  • Monitoring supply base risk and proactively addressing potential disruptions to maintain supply chain resilience.

  • Achieving cost reductions and meeting multi-year savings targets by challenging existing cost structures.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Managing procurement projects across multiple time zones and ensuring alignment with global business goals.

  • Collaborating with Commercial and Medical Affairs teams to provide procurement support and improve service levels.

  • Driving strategic supplier management and contract negotiation efforts to maximize value.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, and providing insights to stakeholders on procurement practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in global procurement, with 2+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical discipline preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) and professional certifications (CPSM, MCIPS – or equivalent).

  • Strong skills in communication, project management, contract negotiation, and financial acumen.

  • Experience in Commercial and Medical Affairs Procurement services.

  • Ability to manage projects across multiple time zones.

  • Proven track record of savings delivery.

  • Ability to work in a highly metric-driven environment and deliver against challenging performance targets.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to resolve issues in a matrixed environment.
