The candidate will engage in diverse aspects of defense litigation, covering cases in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. This role provides an opportunity to work independently while contributing to the firm's collaborative trial team. The ideal candidate will be involved in all phases of litigation, from initial case investigations to preparing and participating in trials.Duties:Conduct legal research on complex issues and draft briefs for filing.Synthesize research into coherent written memoranda or briefs for submission to clients or courts.Represent clients in court, argue motions, and handle issues.Attend and conduct depositions of plaintiffs, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses.Investigate factual claims and recommend further inquiries as necessary.Analyze medical claims and build medical defenses.Participate in case strategy meetings and collaborate on litigation approaches.Negotiate with opposing counsel on contentious matters and potential case resolutions.Requirements:Proven ability to deliver high-quality, strategic legal work.2-6 years of experienceStrong legal writing and analytical skills.Exceptional time management and organizational abilities.Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.Membership in the Massachusetts Bar; membership in Rhode Island and Connecticut Bars preferred.
