Job description

The Opportunity

Interos is a product-oriented company. We are building the world's first fully connected knowledge graph of commercial entities to understand global supply chain risk for our customers. We want to identify real-time risk across every company in our customers' ecosystems and beyond. The data to do this does not exist, so we are making it.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers to achieve their full potential. 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving and operational excellence
  • Contribute to the development of the technical roadmap for the software, aligning it with the overall business strategy
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the software remains cutting-edge and competitive
  • Balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
  • Drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own feature design
  • Lead code reviews, design discussions, and build development best practices
  • Lead cross team initiatives, to understand product priorities and translating into scalable and robust technical solutions for our SaaS engineering organization
  • Help drive our SaaS architecture, including redesigning the current platform and streamlining the release process to ensure rapid time-to-value while maintaining high quality and security standards
  • Mentor others (both individuals and teams) by sharing your vast experience, best practices and lessons learned from past failures
  • Possess a profound understanding of data management and design scalable systems capable of handling vast amounts of data within the cloud ecosystem and across various data sources


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years leading technical teams
  • AWS (with focus on: S3, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambdas)
  • SQL (with focus on: relational databases)
  • Python (with focus on: FastAPI, Pandas, PySpark, SQLAlchemy, Alembic)
  • Kubernetes (with focus on: Deployments, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Autoscaling)
  • OpenTelemetry (with focus on: Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana)
  • Databricks (with focus on: DBX, DBFS, Spark, Notebooks)
  • Testing (with focus on: Postman, PyTest)
  • Security (with focus on: OWASP top 10, JWT, OAuth2)


Preferred:

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and detailed knowledge of object-oriented design and programming
  • Experience with Linux and Docker is a plus (development will be on Linux/Mac)
  • Experience with IPython (especially as a service) is a strong plus
  • Databases (Snowflake, PostgreSQL)
  • Job schedulers (Prefect, Celery, Dask)
  • Message brokers (Kafka)

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
