Job description

Overview:

The Program Director provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the R-LEAD program. The Program Director acts as the primary point of contact for USAID, ensuring effective communication and coordination between all stakeholders. This role involves overseeing research and analysis efforts, guiding evidence-based policy development, and managing complex projects that improve resilience and food security outcomes. The Program Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners, and stakeholders to drive learning agendas and build innovative solutions for global challenges. They will ensure that data insights translate into actionable strategies that align with USAID’s mission to create sustainable, resilient communities. This position requires a visionary leader with a passion for impactful development work and a deep understanding of the intersections between environment, resilience, and food security. Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with travel, CONUS and OCONUS, as needed

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the R-LEAD program
• Ensure all program activities align with USAID's goals and objectives
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all program components
• Serve as the primary point of contact for USAID, ensuring effective communication and coordination
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including program partners and beneficiaries
• Monitor program progress and make adjustments to ensure successful outcomes

Qualifications:

• The ability to obtain a Public Trust
• At least 12 years of experience in international development, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale USAID-funded programs
• Master's degree in International Development, Public Administration, or a related field
• Strong leadership and management skills, extensive knowledge of USAID policies and procedures, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs
