Overview:

Summary

The Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting is responsible for (i) researching and documenting all aspects of technical accounting as well as (ii) actively participating in the organization’s financial reporting function.  This position also prepares certain management, board and investor reporting and presentations.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Participates in researching, documenting and supporting the organization’s more complex accounting decisions
  • Participates in documenting and updating the organization's accounting policies
  • Prepares annual goodwill and long-lived asset impairment assessments, including documentation of reporting units and asset groups
  • Assists in accounting due diligence and purchase accounting related to business acquisitions
  • Prepares year-end financial statements, including footnote disclosures
  • Prepares unaudited quarterly financial statements for investors and management
  • Prepares monthly internal financial statements
  • Monitor certain transactions and calculations for use in management and debt covenant reporting
  • Works with the Operations and Finance team to identify changes in the business that need to be evaluated from a technical accounting perspective
  • Assists with the overall coordination and interactions with the external audit firm and valuation service providers
  • Assists with ad hoc analyses as required 
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in roles within the accounting and finance function
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Recent public accounting experience
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Strong research capabilities with the ability to think through complex details but also understand the big picture
  • Ability to comprehensively and persuasively document accounting conclusions on complex matters
  • Comfortable operating in a highly dynamic, fast paced and high growth environment with a demonstrated ability to add value to the business
  • Excellent communication, writing, organizational and people skills
  • Outstanding sense of “teamwork” and working for the greater good; highly skilled but without an ego
  • Ability to think and act in a forward-looking manner, including the demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and opportunities and address them in a proactive, pragmatic, fact-driven manner
  • High level of competency in Excel
  • High level understanding of financial systems and financial data structures (i.e., legal entities, accounts, profit/cost centers, line-of-business, etc.)
  • Participative, hands on, "roll up the sleeves" work style with a keen attention to thoroughness and details

Pay Range

$90,000 - $105,000

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
