Job description

The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring an Associate Director, Axios Live Partnerships to join our media sales team. 2024 has been a record revenue and programming year for Axios Live – this will be a critical role in building on that expansion.

Why it Matters: As the Associate Director of Axios Live Partnerships, you will be instrumental in developing and managing go-to-market strategies and resources for our expanding Axios Live portfolio at the global, national and local levels. You'll also play a crucial role in identifying, securing, and tracking new revenue opportunities.

Zoom in: This position reports to our Director of Axios Live Partnerships and will work closely with colleagues across sales, strategy, and marketing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the creation and updating of marketing materials, internal resources & communication, and trackers.
  • Supporting the sales team in addressing client inquiries and responding to RFPs.
  • Developing outreach campaigns, identifying qualified prospects, and crafting tailored communications. 
  • Axios Live event revenue pipeline management.
  • Collaborating with the Event Operations team to manage inventory and ensure a seamless transition from pre-sale to post-sale.

Details: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be highly collaborative, organized + detail-oriented, and have the following skills:

  • 4+  years experience in media and/or event sales, client relations, sponsorships 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing and customer service skills, with a keen commercial instinct to support our business development efforts.
  • Strong project management skills and sales fundamentals.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving needs of a high growth sales team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite products 
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills and an ability to prioritize effectively. 

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $85,000 - $91,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits.

Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes a sales incentive component, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
