Job description

LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) was founded on the principle that the firm should work for the advisor, and not the other way around. Today, LPL is a leader* in the markets we serve, supporting more than 22,000 financial advisors, 1,100 institution-based investment programs, and 500 independent RIA firms nationwide. We are steadfast in our commitment to the advisor-centered model and the belief that Americans deserve access to personalized guidance from a financial advisor. At LPL, independence means that advisors have the freedom they deserve to choose the business model, services, and technology resources that allow them to run their perfect practice. And they have the freedom to manage their client relationships because they know their clients best. Simply put, we take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.

We are currently looking to hire a Head of Executive Compensation within the Total Rewards team, which is a part of LPL’s Human Resources organization. Reporting to the EVP Total Rewards and Chief Human Resources Officer, this role provides a full range of executive compensation support in the design, development, implementation and on-going management of company-wide executive compensation programs and initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive the presentation and material preparation for the Compensation Committee of the Board.
  • Assist in the process of preparing the annual proxy CD&A (compensation summary tables, CEO pay ratio).
  • Assist with financial analyses and modeling of pay packages in order to support and develop compensation recommendations for executives at SVP level and above as needed (external hires and internal executives).
  • Support the annual cycle for senior executives, including market competitive review and compensation recommendation preparations for compensation committee meetings.
  • Assist with compensation presentation preparation for Management Committee meetings as needed.
  • Administer the Executive Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Includes annual enrollment, education, and program review and plan design enhancements to ensure alignment with company objectives and best practice.
  • Oversee the executive relocation program. Includes executive experience with the relocation event.

Other Job Duties:

  • Work on a variety of compensation projects as assigned including program design, analysis, cost analysis, guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist with annual salary survey submissions and benchmark analysis.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or a combination of education and progressive work experience in HR Compensation required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of advanced professional experience in executive compensation administration required.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred (attained or making progress towards achieving)

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to use data to tell a meaningful and logical story
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation theory and concepts including administration of compensation programs including job evaluation and salary surveys
  • Experience preparing materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board and materials for the CD&A section of the Proxy Statement required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Analytical skills with high proficiency with Excel modeling & formulas
  • Expert proficiency in PowerPoint and Word with the ability to use various charts and graphs
  • Strong written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated high level of business, analytical, and financial acumen

Pay Range:

$210,200.00 - $350,300.00
