Job description

Art+Logic is looking for a WordPress/PHP Developer to work with us on interesting custom software projects. We’ve been around since 1991, and we’re still going strong.

We're looking for someone who is an expert with PHP and also a deep understanding of WordPress - and who is excited to continue working in it.

We work remotely all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America. We expect you to be able to work well on your own and comfortably with teams. You won’t have someone looking over your shoulder so you'll need to be communicative and reliable, and hold yourself accountable. We depend on each other.

We value work/life balance, and our projects keep meetings to a minimum to ensure everyone has the flexibility to work during the times that work best for them. We never expect our developers to work more than 40 hours in a given week.

Art+Logic is run by humans, who work and create using technology. Things can go wrong and we need to respond to the unexpected by being kind, considerate, fair, flexible, and calm. We treat our clients and peers as respectfully as we ourselves would like to be treated.

What we want from you: (aka: skills)

  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development, in combination with front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Strong understanding of theme development and structure.
  • Experience building custom WooCommerce applications.
  • Experience working with Advanced Custom fields and Divi a plus.
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.

Relationship Details:

We are looking for Contractors (1099) for long term open-ended relationships. Work hours are flexible; requiring some reasonable overlap with normal working hours - though we work across multiple time zones. This is done to support team communications, as only working late nights and/or weekends doesn't allow real time communication with team members.

For this particular need, we expect the hours needed to be low, but to have bursts of work. This would be a great position for someone looking to supplement other work.

We are ONLY looking for people in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

We want you to enjoy working for us, and to be able to have a life outside of work. Since you're not commuting you can embrace the freedom of working from where you enjoy living, and use the saved time for your personal life and relationships. We don’t ask our developers to work consistently over 40 hours/week.

This ranges in rate from $30-$60/hour based on experience.
