Job Overview

We are on the lookout for a seasoned Commercial Claims General Adjuster / Supervisor to join our dynamic team in a hybrid role. This position is designed for a commercial claims professional who is passionate about leadership and management. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of claims handlers while managing intricate and high-value claims, ensuring resolutions are achieved in a timely and effective manner, and fostering the professional growth of your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee claims handlers in collaboration with the Director of Claims, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex claims, which includes policy review, reserve setting, and engaging vendors as necessary.
  • Conduct onsite inspections when required, documenting observations and findings.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company procedures while effectively communicating claim statuses to relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, calculate settlements, and authorize payments, seeking additional authority when needed.
  • Engage in claims litigation processes and assist in the resolution of disputes.
  • Provide mentorship to junior adjusters and assist the Director in staff development and oversight.
  • Participate in audits of vendors and adjusters to uphold quality control standards.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, coupled with a commitment to delivering outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lead teams and provide mentorship in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years in commercial claims handling, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Must possess and maintain adjuster licenses in all relevant states.
