Role: The Business Analyst works closely with the Product Owner and reports to the Director, Product Development. He or she is primarily responsible for translating user needs into functional requirements. The Business Analyst must demonstrate great attention to detail and excellent organizational and priority management skills.

Below is a brief description of the product the candidate will be working on.

Equisoft/Plan is a SaaS product that allows financial advisors and planners to create a customized plan to help their clients achieve their financial goals. Whether it's the need to minimize major financial risks (death, disability, critical illness), better budget for expenses or plan for retirement, Equisoft/Plan is their tool to help them in the process of identifying needs and establishing strategies. 

Your Day with Equisoft:   

  • Carry out functional analyses of new technological solutions based on user requirements;
  • Work closely with UX designers, developers and product manager to document functional specifications
  • Contribute to the design of new roadmap functionalities
  • Contribute to user interface design in collaboration with designers
  • Support the development team during the sprint (answer questions, participate in informal demonstrations, review test cases, etc.).
  • Prepare and carry out functional tests
  • Act as a proxy for the product manager, if necessary
  • Participate in planning sessions with the development team leader and product manager to define the priorities and scope of the next delivery
  • Create the necessary Jira tasks for the sprint and collaborate with the technical architect and team leader.

Requirements:   

Technical  

  • Minimum of 2 years' significant work experience in the insurance and finance sector personal
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or information technology or a college diploma combined with 3 years' relevant experience
  • 5 years or more in a functional or business analyst role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Experience with agile practices (asset).
  • Experience working with a design team (UI/UX) (asset)
