We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a PMO (Project Management Office), driven by a commitment to continuous improvement and possessing a strong background in project management. As a highly competent project management professional, you should have a broad understanding of industry-based business solutions and industry-standard methodologies.

As a PMO, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing project operations within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to support Project Managers by providing expert guidance and assistance in creating and monitoring project plans, with a strong focus on efficient time, cost, and quality management. Additionally, you will ensure that all Project Managers adhere to company standards throughout the development and execution of each project, aiming to surpass our business goals and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project development and ensure adherence to company standards by providing guidance and support to Project Managers.
  • Support and guide Project Managers during project startup, emphasizing the creation of clear Project Management Plans (PMP) and Project Plans.
  • Coach and train Project Managers on expectations and processes to meet portfolio objectives effectively.
  • Monitor project progress at all stages, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and intervening as necessary to address issues promptly.
  • Actively support Project Managers by providing guidance on project management best practices and facilitating the resolution of challenges.
  • Administer Portfolio Management Health, with a focus on maintaining all projects in the "green" status and representing the portfolio to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining favorable project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular project assessments for issue resolution.
  • Escalation point-of-contact for Project Managers (PMs) to remove blockers.
  • Facilitate transparent communication through regular project review meetings and ensure projects meet company standards, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop comprehensive remediation plans, consolidating Lessons Learned, Common Risks, and reusable artifacts for future project acceleration.
  • Implement effective risk management practices to minimize organizational risk and exposure and provide detailed reports on project performance and improvement recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and train the organization in business practices, processes, policies/procedures, and consulting methodology.
  • Enable continuous learning for Project Managers based on portfolio needs and provide input for their performance evaluation and growth mindset.
  • Engages with global teams and work closely with others PMOs, Business Support & Operations teams to strengthen processes and ensure the implementation of operational policies.
  • Provide direction and mentoring to project teams, acting as the domain expert on projects and offering coaching, mentoring, guidance, and feedback to develop team members' skills.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience relevant to this position, including 8+ years of project or direct line management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage projects of increasing complexity.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop executive-level relationships and effectively influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members in a cross-organizational environment and strong business writing skills for effective documentation.
  • Product, technology, or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus, with strong Oracle product knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in analytical abilities and experience in quantitative project management, including financials and metrics, for critical evaluation of project processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product and expertise in Jira, capable of mentoring Project Managers in these tools.
  • Proficiency in risk management and extensive experience in developing, implementing, and running high-complexity Portfolio, Program, and Project Management processes.
  • Experience with forecasts, analysis, and cost/staffing optimization to achieve business objectives, both from the perspective of the project and the P&L.
  • Preferably degree-educated (or equivalent relevant experience) with experience working in project teams.
  • Holds PMP accreditation or equivalent qualification, and Scrum Master Certification may be advantageous.
  • Good interpersonal and multitasking skills, with a professional, supportive, diplomatic, flexible, and responsible demeanor.
  • Availability for support in other time zones across LAD.
  • Advanced English proficiency required, and basic Spanish skills may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.
