FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

This position is for a one-year contract with possible transformation into Permanent

Job Purposes


This team member will report to the Support Manager Topcon Italy and Professional Services EMEA management, Sales department in a pre and post sales role for Topcon distribution partners and end users. As part of the Topcon Italy Support team, this member will be a driving force in increasing sales of Earthmoving (Machine Control), GeoPositioning and Paving solutions through technical and application knowledge to meet or exceed financial goals set by Topcon.

Core Job Duties

  • Responsible for the daily technical support (email, phone, chat) on Positioning Solutions, Earthmoving solutions (Machine Control) for the Italian market with the other team members

  • Member of the Earthmoving (Machine Control) Training team, lead and maintain seasonable Dealer & End-user trainings. To develop the technical expertise of our distribution partners on Topcon Hardware and Software products and on the different technologies applied to the construction market;

  • Support the Sales team, preparing customer and dealer technical demos and presentations. Work closely with Sales and Marketing staff to provide business solutions for the Italian market. Become the primary technical contact point and sales support for our dealers, operating in increasing autonomy;

  • Be the Positioning, Earth moving (Machine Control) Application and Software family software Subject Matter Expert, keep up to date with new Earthmoving solutions developments.

  • Creation of online content (Quick Guides, How-to, Notification messages); myTopcon NOW and eLearning (self-learning) courses.

  • All common Professional Services activities, in line with goal settings and experience. Communicated with your team leader and/or manager. Alignment with EMEA Support colleagues. Work with European team on global goals, projects, content, and direction

Minimum Requirements for job:

  • Degree in Civil/Building/Electronic Engineering and/or diploma of Surveyor/Electronic Expert with practical knowledge.

  • Knowledge of the Office Package and previous experience in the use of CAD drawing software;

  • B Driving License;

  • Knowledge of the English language

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Preferential qualifications will be: technical knowledge of construction site processes and machines; technical knowledge of earthmoving and/or road machinery, topography processes.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.

  • Ability to travel within the assigned region as needed.
