Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise and effective sign language interpretation for students during various classroom activities such as lectures, discussions, and collaborative projects.
• Ensure smooth communication among students, teachers, and staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment.
• Tailor interpretation approaches to address the distinct needs of each student, promoting their active participation in the learning process.
• Collaborate closely with educators and interdisciplinary teams to enhance student success and engagement.

Required Skills

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant sign languages.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in educational interpreting, particularly within K-12 settings.
• A bachelor's or associate degree in Sign Language Interpretation, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Active EIPA or RID certification is required.
• Up-to-date certification to interpret in Ohio is mandatory.
