Key Responsibilities

• Educate adult learners in both classroom and virtual settings.
• Create and customize lesson plans for GED-level mathematics and science.
• Apply evidence-based teaching methods and practices.
• Develop individualized study plans for participants as required.
• Monitor student progress and provide assistance to overcome academic challenges.
• Maintain precise records, including attendance and assessment outcomes.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops as necessary.
• Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and addresses the diverse needs of students.
• Establish meaningful relationships with students to enhance retention and progression.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in teaching individuals with varying abilities and from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong grasp of mathematical and scientific principles.
• Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication capabilities.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, time management, and stress management abilities.
• Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience in managing student data within complex databases is advantageous.
• Preferred familiarity with CampusVue, SID, Canvas, and/or virtual conferencing platforms.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in adult basic education, mathematics, or a related field.
• Current State of Minnesota Teaching License.
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching adults.
• Preferred: Over two years of teaching experience and familiarity with online teaching platforms.
