Position: Medical Coder - Remote

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Medical Coder to join our esteemed team! Job Overview

As a Medical Coder, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our coding processes align with industry standards and regulations, significantly contributing to the financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily coding audits and accurately code Evaluation & Management (E&M) visits, extracting necessary information from operative reports and transcriptions.
  • Assign appropriate CPT codes, along with associated modifiers and ICD-10 codes to billing documents, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Deliver coding and billing education and constructive feedback to healthcare providers to foster continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Investigate, amend, resubmit, and appeal denied claims to maximize reimbursement.
  • Stay informed about evolving payer policies, procedures, and industry standards to maintain compliance.
  • Achieve and maintain a coding accuracy rate of at least 90%.
  • Perform additional duties as required to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS-P) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of medical coding experience is essential, with a preference for candidates who have coded for Asthma, Allergy, or Colorectal Surgery.
