Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Database Specialist who possesses a strong passion for leveraging data to enhance the quality of life for children. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in managing diverse data-related tasks throughout the test development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the R&D Director of Psychometrics on various data management tasks.
  • Provide essential data support during the data collection phase, including executing and modifying scripts to verify the completeness of incoming data.
  • Cleanse and organize data sets to ensure readiness for analysis.
  • Develop and manage databases using tools such as Smartsheet and Excel to streamline data tracking and management.
  • Document and archive work processes to uphold replicability and transparency.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in coding with R, Python, SPSS, Stata, or similar programming languages (R is preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data clearly in graphical and narrative formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, statistics, computer science, or a related research field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a research setting, focusing on data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in database management and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, or Smartsheet is advantageous.
