Job Overview

As an Educational Facilitator (EF), you will be instrumental in enriching the educational journeys of TK-12 home study families. Reporting directly to the School and/or Program Director, you will craft engaging and individualized educational experiences that resonate with learners. Your role will include being the primary liaison for families, offering both academic and operational guidance to ensure a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive academic, physical, and extracurricular programs for assigned learners.
  • Act as the primary contact for families in the independent study program, fostering positive and supportive relationships.
  • Collaborate with parents and learners to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) aligned with educational standards.
  • Conduct regular check-ins every 20 days to monitor learner progress and provide necessary support.
  • Gather monthly work samples from learners, maintain portfolios, and ensure documentation adheres to program standards.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and learning records.
  • Collaborate with parents to award semester grades and progress reports, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Model effective educational strategies that empower parents to facilitate their children’s learning.
  • Assist parents with program policies and the navigation of required technologies.
  • Support at-promise learners with additional resources to address learning gaps.
  • Actively engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in education and home study practices.
  • Communicate vital information to staff and families regarding educational events and opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to school meetings, including IEPs, as needed.
  • Ensure all learners complete required state-mandated assessments.
  • Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid California Multiple Subject Credential with 24 ECE Units or Child Development Teacher Permit.
  • ELL Authorization or CLAD certificate.
  • Negative TB test or risk assessment questionnaire.
  • DOJ fingerprint clearance.
  • Previous experience with homeschool or independent study programs is preferred.
  • Strong moral character and professional demeanor to serve as a role model.
