Job Overview

We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and passionate School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our esteemed team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver high-quality therapeutic services to school-aged students experiencing challenges with fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing. Your primary focus will be on Charter School students with documented motor or sensory impairments, empowering them to reach their fullest potential through customized support.

Key Responsibilities

As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, your essential responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify students' needs related to fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing.
  • Collaborating with educational specialists to ascertain eligibility for services and to create effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Providing direct therapeutic instruction, aiding students in developing compensatory skills where they face difficulties.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely treatment notes and progress reports in accordance with school policies.
  • Keeping a detailed record of services rendered and any missed sessions due to absences.

Required Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with students with special needs.
  • A robust understanding of legal and ethical obligations within the field.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity towards diverse backgrounds affecting developmental skills.
  • Proficiency in both Microsoft and Google applications to ensure accurate virtual record-keeping in compliance with school policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and online.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • A valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification for infants, children, and adults.
  • The capability to pass background screenings and health evaluations, alongside current immunizations (e.g., TB).
  • A valid California Board License or CTC Rehabilitation Certificate, along with a commitment to ongoing education for license renewal.
  • A valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation (note: virtual providers are exempt from this requirement).

Compensation And Benefits

  • Level 1 (0-5 years of experience): \(45 - \)52.50 per hour
  • Level 2 (5+ years of experience): \(50 - \)62 per hour
