Position Overview
The job profile for this position is for a Software Engineering Senior Advisor. This is a Band 4 Senior Contributor career track role.
The Engineer will work with a team of talented individuals and be responsible for design, build and testing Medicare provider applications and its components that interface with complex systems and external vendor managed SaaS systems. Engineer will have solid knowledge working with complex distributed applications and passion for technologies by solving complex business challenges. Individual will have zeal and drive to be up to speed with latest development in tech arena.
Responsibilities
Software development including solution architecture reviews/recommendations, design, development, testing, and automation.
Ability to learn Medicare provider domain and work directly with business stakeholders in understanding needs and requirements and demonstrate that on the software products build.
Participate and conduct code reviews with scrum teams to approve for Production deployment.
Inculcate a continuous improvement culture that is constantly monitoring the performance, availability, capacity, cost, security, and quality of the solutions implemented.
Collaborate with peers to build complimenting software products, sharing learnings and inner sourcing to reduce duplication and create synergy.
Understand the CI-CD concepts and practice enterprise standard DevSecOps practices.
Stay current on technology to capitalize on new capabilities that can advance business
Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
Ability to work with distributed/remote teams
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline strongly preferred
Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are preferred. Strong knowledge of public cloud computing concepts (AWS preferred)
Typically, 10+ years of solid, diverse work experience in IT specifically in application development/software engineering or similar roles.
3+ years for experience leveraging public cloud for application development.
Prior working experience in healthcare domain is preferred.
Required Experience
Strong application development experience in two or more programming languages: Python, NodeJS, Typescript, Go, Java.
Experience with full stack application development.
Experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architecture
Strong experience with the following AWS Services or equivalent: API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS Faregate, EKS, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS, S3, EC2, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, SecretManager, CloudWatch, Alarms, Rout53, CloudFront, S3 static website, ALB/ELB.
Experience developing cloud native serverless applications leveraging industry standard such as AWS Well Architected Framework,
Experience with message / Event driven architecture (Kafka, AWS solutions)
Experience with Security Concepts (e.g. encryption, Identity, OAUTH, etc.).
Experience with terraform IAC or similar
Understanding and experience with Agile development methodology and concepts
UI development experience using Angular/Typescript/JavaScript technologies
Experience developing with containers (e.g. OpenShift, ECS Fargate, EKS, etc.)
Should be comfortable to work with relational Database (MS-SQL server, Teradata, Postgres is preferred) and No SQL (DynamoDB preferred) Database
Experience with GitHub, Jenkins or GitHub actions or equivalent.
Test automation skills using BDD or TDD or similar.
Experience with healthcare domain will be a plus.
Experience with AWS Glue using PySpark and SparkSQL is a plus.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
