The annual base salary for this position ranges from $138,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $327,200.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

This is a critical technical leadership role that will drive architecture definition, analyze and recommend major enhancements and sequence architecture and technology roadmaps.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Principal Enterprise Architect who will be a key member of a foundational platform architecture team focused data lake, data processing and artificial intelligence platforms powering all Nike experiences, systems and processes.
A successful candidate will be a servant leader with deep technical expertise, excellent cross-organizational communication and facilitation skills and a keen ability to author and drive collective architecture strategy and direction. The candidate will work within the platform engineering teams to drive architecture and across Nike solution architecture and engineering teams enabling capabilities.
The position requires a strong leader who continually demonstrates a pragmatic balance between strategy and execution with a clear unified point of view. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In this role you will drive architecture and design to maximize technical capability and value of foundational technology investments, and their practical application in driving both revenue and efficiency across Nike.
- Provide deep technical subject matter expertise and mentoring for advanced data management and AI processing as applied to new business opportunities, migration of existing workloads, and rationalization of technologies
- Lead and drive strategy and architecture for modern data lake, data processing and engineering systems and pipelines with a focus on foundational technology platforms
- Contribute to and align strategy and architecture for modern machine learning, AI and Generative AI capabilities across Nike with a focus on foundational technology platforms
- Collaborate across Nike to analyze, refine and prioritize technical capabilities and roadmaps with a focus on direct collaboration with peer architects and engineers
- Advise management and stakeholders on emerging industry and vendor trends and capabilities and how and when they might be best applied at Nike
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role reports to the Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture. You will participate in, and drive collaboration across, engineering, product and program teams for Data and AI Platforms. You will facilitate and collaborate with architects and engineers driving applications and services powered by these foundational technologies.
This role partners closely within Enterprise Architecture, the broader architecture community, and within the Enterprise Architecture and Developer Platforms engineering domain. You will participate in architecture strategy and practice execution across Nike globally.
WHAT YOU BRING
We're looking for someone special, someone who has these experiences and clearly demonstrates these skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field of study, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- 10+ years architecture or software engineering experience with a focus on design as an individual contributor developing large scale enterprise shared technology platforms and capabilities through a combination of custom software development and vendor provided technology
- 7+ years professional experience with AWS or other major cloud provider
- 7+ years in a lead engineering role for a platform depended on by multiple application teams
- Deep industry experience in Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence platforms, including Generative AI
- Extensive experience building resilient, available, secure, efficient, and automated shared software platforms, frameworks and systems
- Prior experience in working with engineering teams through major technology transitions
