Job description

As a NextGen Consultant (FLSA exempt role), you're responsible for proving comprehensive consulting services both onsite and remotely, supporting clients with assigned duties within the client project.  This includes evaluating client needs, developing and managing project plans, set-up, testing, documentation, and training to optimize practice operations while maintaining superior client satisfaction. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage implementations for strategically important clients.
  • Provide expert guidance on NextGen Enterprise PM, EHR, and ancillary product configurations, customizations, and integrations, ensuring alignment with client needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Present consultative recommendations and solutions aligned with best practice processes and optimized workflows.
  • Manage client expectations, ensuring engagement, alignment, and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create, configure, maintain, and update client workflows to meet specific needs, aligning with industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform workflow assessments to identify process improvements and recommend system configurations that enhance efficiency and usability.
  • Train end-users on new features, system updates, and workflows to promote understanding and maximize adoption across client teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and questions from key stakeholders and end users to provide resolution and requested information.
  • Develop and organize training materials for all training sessions.
  • Ensure all project documentation is thorough, including scope, requirements, project notes, billable time tracking, and expense submission, maintaining compliance with internal processes.
  • Complete projects on time and within scope, tracking and reporting all work accurately, and delivering comprehensive project governance.
  • Comply with internal documentation requirements, including accurate billable time tracking, detailed project notes, expense tracking, and timely submission of all required documentation.
  • Provide clients and team members with technical expertise related to:  project scope, implementation, modification, optimization, and support of complex clinical application environments.
  • Effectively manage time worked for projects to ensure client needs are met.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise, staying up to date on product updates, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties, as required.
     
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare consulting required.
  • Minimum 3 years of NextGen Enterprise experience is required.
  • NextGen Certified Professional (EHR, PM, EDR, Portal, Document Management) is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of NextGen Enterprise and specialty practice needs related to reporting, clinical workflows, and revenue cycle management. 
  • Experience in consulting and/or direct implementation experience with ambulatory health information systems preferred.
  • Availability to travel up to 75%.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Highly responsive to clients with superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Maintain professionalism in both in-person and virtual environments, including personal presentation and written communication. 
  • Strong client-facing skills with previous consulting experience is preferred.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge.
