Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Leader of Machine Learning Engineering who is enthusiastic about harnessing the latest advancements in AI technology to foster innovation. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and implementation of our AI-driven solutions, making a significant impact on our employees, dealers, and customers. As part of our innovative team, you will drive the transformation of our business operations by leveraging state-of-the-art machine learning and AI techniques.

This remote position may require occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office, or you have the option to work on-site if preferred. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in exciting AI initiatives and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to introduce groundbreaking solutions within the auto-lending sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the creation and deployment of machine learning solutions across diverse business domains.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of machine learning projects, from initial concept through application integration, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Explore and employ innovative methodologies such as deep learning, large language models (LLM), and graph neural networks to address multifaceted challenges.
  • Develop and implement intelligent chatbots and analytical tools that provide tailored responses for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and refine LLM models utilizing multimodal data sources (e.g., documents, graphs, text) to tackle specific business issues.
  • Cultivate a collaborative culture that promotes the widespread adoption of machine learning throughout the organization.

Required Skills

  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related technical field with 8+ years of pertinent experience, or an MS with 10+ years of experience.
  • Extensive background in building and deploying deep learning models, including recommendation systems and reinforcement learning.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Proven track record in leading teams of machine learning engineers and scientists.
  • Comprehensive understanding of statistical principles, optimization techniques, and machine learning theory, particularly within NLP and/or Computer Vision domains.
  • Ability to align machine learning strategies with organizational objectives and convey technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in fine-tuning and optimizing large language models, including parameter-efficient fine-tuning and model quantization.
  • Proficient in designing distributed systems and scalable applications utilizing gRPC or GraphQL.
  • Experience with DAG-based pipelines (e.g., Kubeflow, Ray) and developing batch and streaming microservices.
