Job description

Overview:

One of our terrific scientific research/educational organizations has an immediate opportunity for a part-time, contract AV Technician. This will be a part-time role, onsite, 3 days per week, 8 hour shifts. The individual can choose the days he/she comes into work. 

 

This position will be onsite in Woods Hole, MA. The contract is expected to last through the end of the year with a possibility of extending into 2025. The hourly rate of pay starts at $38/hr and will depend on level of experience. This position will also offer sick time pay that is earned on an accrual basis.

 

The part-time AV Technician will be responsible for setting up AV equipment, helping with ZOOM, WebEx, Teams, assisting with video editing. Experience with Cisco room kits will be very helpful.  May need to do some lifting once in a while – up to 50 lbs.   Lots of walking to the different conference rooms with some possible working outside. Also some local travel to other locations, Individual should have a car. 

 

Will mostly be operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of media-related equipment. This position uses learned multimedia knowledge and skills to provide technical support for all staff and students. This role will be responsible for meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery benchmarks by providing a high level of customer service to end users. This is a customer-facing role that will make field visits to the departments in need. 

Responsibilities:
  • Work with scientists, staff, and students to assemble video and electronic media for instruction, presentation, Internet, and broadcast purposes.
  • Provide support for seminars, webinars, and hybrid events using Zoom, Webex, or Teams.
  • Provide classroom AV equipment support.
  • Provide virtual video and audio services for live events.
  • Operate and troubleshoot current distance learning teleconferencing gear. Responsible for set-up and maintenance of teleconferencing unit(s).
  • Set up and manage large virtual events and live webcasts using multiple platforms and products.
  • Maintain and upgrade electronic display equipment and materials.
  • Instruct and schedule support staff as necessary.
Min: USD $38.00/Hr. Max: USD $43.00/Hr. Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of video and audio recording gear including microphone and PA system configurations and setup. Knowledge of multimedia presentation/projection equipment. Thorough knowledge of video conferencing platforms including Zoom, Webex, and MS Teams.
  • Proven skills in interacting with a wide variety of people, working under tight deadlines, and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of multiple computer operating systems and configuration
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary as they relate to desktop support services
