Job description

Overview:

The Deputy Director of Program Management will directly support the Director of Program Management in overseeing the successful execution of contracts and programs. This role involves managing multiple teams across different projects, ensuring contract deliverables are met, and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The Deputy Director will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence of the program management office (PMO) 

This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the program management office, ensuring compliance with government contracting requirements, and supporting business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of leadership experience in program management, a strong background in government contracting, and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. 

 

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Program Management: Assist the Director of Program Management in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of complex government contracts. Ensure that all program objectives, deliverables, and milestones are met on time and within budget. 
  • Team Leadership: Manage multiple program management teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management for program managers. 
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure that all contract requirements are met in accordance with federal regulations, including FAR/DFAR compliance and any specific client or project-based contractual obligations. 
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with program execution and contract deliverables. Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential risks or issues that could impact program success. 
  • Performance Reporting: Regularly report on program performance to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure timely delivery of all internal and client-facing reports. 
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards across all programs. Lead or participate in regular program audits and reviews to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. 
Qualifications:

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in program management, with a strong focus on government contracting and contract deliverables. Experience managing multiple teams across large, complex programs is essential
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPA, Public Policy, etc.) is highly preferred
  • Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred
  • Clearance: Top-Secret clearance is highly preferred
  • Skills: 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, PowerBI)

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors): $ 120,000.00 - $ 150,000.00 /Yr.
